1.2. System Requirements
- Dedicated server machine or true shell account. Free web hosting services,
such as Geocities, won't work.
- Java™ Runtime Environment installed on your server machine.
- Ability to run background processes, such as daemons, on the server machine.
If unsure, ask your hosting provider.
- Java-enabled operating system, such as Linux®, UNIX®, Solaris™,
Free BSD, Windows® NT®/2000, and so forth.
- Telnet and FTP access, if you are not at the same location as the server.
- 586/200MHz with 64 MB RAM or better. Dedicated PII/400 MHz with 256 MB
RAM is enough to handle 400 or more concurrent users.
- Java 1.1 enabled browser, such as Netscape Communicator™ 4.08 or
newer, Internet Explorer 4.0 or newer.
